Who are The creaTors
Together, we have over 80 years of experience working with children. Our lived experiences of raising premature, neurodivergent and normally developing children has provided us with invaluable knowledge on how children learn, and we want to share this knowledge with you.
Alexandra Culley parent/speech pathologist, educator and professional learning specialist with 40+ years’ experience.
Alexandra and her husband have two adult children, both of whom were born prematurely, one at 30 weeks, the other at 36 weeks. Both children were unable to feed effectively. This was a confronting experience for her. However, interacting with the neo-natal therapy team and lactation consultant provided an insight into helping her children’s development and consequently, all her work practises. This led her to become a more effective therapist, better able to step into the shoes of clients. She has a private practice working with people of all ages and abilities. Alexandra has a long history of implementing and evaluating literacy programs in school and home settings. She is deeply concerned by the lack of emphasis on oral language development and screen overuse.
Lisa McKay – parent, educator, professional learning specialist of 40+ years’ experience.
Lisa has 3 neurodiverse adult children, all of whom required extensive speech/language and occupational therapy from 2-years-old. Lisa’s children were collectively diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, selective mutism, Central Auditory Processing Disorder, ADHD, dyslexia, and oral, verbal and motor apraxia. Today, Lisa’s children, two of whom have received university degrees, are living independent, prosperous lives. These experiences enabled Lisa to integrate practical therapeutic information with her educational expertise. Lisa is concerned with children’s lack of ability to write. Computers, while extraordinarily helpful, can’t be used for everything.
Annette Culley – parent, desktop publisher, author, legal professional.
Annette and her husband have three adult children. Learning skills are a passion for Annette who has grave concerns about the declining education standards around the world. She is collaborating with Alexandra and Lisa, who have extensive education and child development experience, to create this wonderful program for parents, caregivers and educators.
